Nick Khoury, owner of Ram Country Dodge said, “As a title sponsor of the George Paul Memorial Bull Riding for many years, when I was approached to sponsor Texas Cocktail as the Bounty Bull with CBR and Bobby Paul, I jumped at the chance. Cowboys have been loyal Dodge Truck drivers and if I can help a cowboy make an extra $10,000 then I want to support these great athletes.” Khoury added, “Ram Country Dodge is a sponsor of Houston Hutto, the Reserve World Champion Calf Roper in 2008. The Del Rio professional calf roper drives a Ram Country Dodge truck and CBR drives one of our Dodge trucks as well. The George Paul Memorial Bull Riding brings a truck load of tourist dollars to Del Rio and this is just one way of saying thanks to the fans and professional bull riders of CBR. As a nationally televised event on Great American Country, Bobby Paul has produced an event for 33 years that had put Del Rio on the map and continues to be the leader in professional bull riding.”  Texas Cocktail, owned by Trent West, Whitesboro, TX, is known for his ability to breed and raise top quality bucking bulls. He has said of the six-year-old bull, “Right handed riders have a little better chance of riding him” but regardless, the powerhouse bull will make a rider earn every dollar. It takes a lot of “sweat and work to raise this caliber of bull” and he is a champion.
The 8 second ride on Texas Cocktail breaks down to $1,250 per second if a rider makes the successful ride Saturday, May 1. Saturday night May 1, one lucky cowboy, who will already have won round one of the 33rd GPMBR, will have a chance for an extra $10,000 and he will become only the third bull rider to conquer the massive animal, Texas Cocktail. The 33rd George Paul Memorial Bull Riding will be held May 1-2, 2010. Tickets for the event are on sale at the Val Verde County Fairgrounds box office open from 9:00 A M to 4:00 P M, Monday-Friday.
